This hormone is released upon physical touch or stimulation with someone else.
Due to it’s release during touch, this chemical is referred to as the cuddle hormone, so get hugging!
Being kind can also raise these levels, so giving a gift to someone can keep you feeling useful and full of oxytocin.
Endorphins
Are released to help alleviate depression and anxiety when the body is placed under acute stress or pain.
The overwhelming sense of ecstasy through intense running also known as a runner’s high is the result of endorphins.
Other than exercise, laughter has a strong link to the release of this hormone, so tell a bad joke every now and again.
Scented oils and dark chocolate have also been known to boost endorphin release.
Online Introduction
30 Minutes- This introductory session will give you the opportunity to get to know your professional therapist and ask any questions you may have about therapy or the Person-Centred approach. Therapy is a personal experience and it’s important that you feel our therapist for you. This will take place remotely either by phone or video call.
In Person Introduction
50 Minutes- This gives you the opportunity to get to know your therapist and ask any questions you may have about therapy or the Person-Centred approach. It also allows for you to see the environment in which the therapy sessions will take place. Therapy is a personal experience and it’s important that you feel comfortable and connected with your professional.
Counselling Session
50 Minutes- During your 50 minute sessions together you will build a trusting therapeutic relationship with your therapist where you feel safe and accepted. All 50 minutes of the session are yours to talk about whatever is present and important for you. During the session your professional will offer empathy and honesty to support you in making a positive change.
